Abyssinian - one of the most famous breed of shorthair. These types are medium built cats with a modified rounded head, expressive almond eyes, quite a long and thick tail as well as broad and blunt ears. This type is considered as the most independent breed of domesticated cat. Abyssinian loves to roam so you cannot consider it as your typical house cat that enjoys resting on its owner's lap. This type of breed is also energetic and active and stays busy all day while continuously exploring their environment. The Chartreux cat can even be taught certain tricks.

Devonshire Rex - their origins is in Devonshire in the United Kingdom, a kitten born with a curly hair. The Devonshire Rex comes in different colors, but they have several common features. Basically, they have large ears mounted on a wide head, and are often stocky-built plus a slightly upturned nose. Devonshire Rex cats are also called alien cats for those reasons. They have long legs and huge toes as well giving them the ability to go up into nooks and crannies for that reason.

European Burmese - Both the European Burmese and the American Burmese has this common heritage. They both come from a single brown cat from Burma named Wong Mau. It is advisable to keep them indoors to prevent them from getting infectious diseases or rabies. It is also a nice way to keep them from getting lost or stolen. They have short and naturally shiny coat. Disciplining a European Burmese cat is not that hard because a water spray is enough to keep them on guard.

Havana Brown Cats - Havana Brown cats' are division of the Royal Cats of Siam in South East Asia. This breed is incomparable to other brown cats because they have this unique shiny and mahogany brown fur. Their fur is really rich and smooth to touch. They have a long head with a blushing red nose plus a remarkable chin. The eyes of Havana brown cats are oval and vivid green while the ears are big and round tipped.

Javanese Cat - a longhair breed of cat related to the Balinese breed. They both come from the natural transformation of Siamese. Javanese cats can be seen in seal, blue, chocolate and lilac point colors.

Korat - this one of the oldest cat breed originates in Thailand part of Asia. They don’t need much brushing and grooming because they have shorthair coat. They are very active cats and needs so much affection. Even though they have active nature, Korats are cautious of loud or sudden noises and prefers staying indoors and living in a quiet and peaceful environment.

Maine Coon Cats - a gorgeous broad-chested breed of cats. Maine Coon cats have huge and well-built rectangular bodies and long, graceful tails. The Maine Coon has these extraordinary features: high cheekbones, a medium head, lengthy teeth and a blunt ended chin. They are naturally strong and healthy. They are also known as the most competitive fighter and with highest chance of survival even in harsh environment.

The Norwegian Forest Cat - a very friendly indoor cat popularly known as “Wegies” in United States. The Norweigan Forest cats have coats that are extremely gorgeous long, smooth and heavy guard hairs covering a shorter thick undercoat. The head's shape of this cat is in an equilateral triangle having a very short muscled neck. Their rear legs are longer than their front legs. Their ears are often pricked forward and their tails held vertically.

Oriental - they have originated from the Siamese cat originally introduced from Thailand. This cat breed can be grouped into shorthair and longhair varieties. They mostly have a slim, slender and graceful body and the head is triangular shaped with huge ears. They have almond shaped and slanted eyes that are usually green-colored which really emphasizes its Oriental look.

Persian cat - One of the earliest cat breeds that is very adaptable and will easily get along with their environment. These cat breeds are friendly and warm side and they prefer just lounging about to playing. Due to this reason they prefer staying at home because they love being just indoors.

Ragamuffin Cats - For those who are not that familiar with this breed, it looks about exactly the same as a Ragdoll cat. It actually originated from cross-breeding Ragdoll cats with other domestic cats. The Ragamuffin was only accepted as an official cat breed in 1994. Their coat is commonly at any point color which is a solid color.

Scottish Fold - The Scottish Fold has this unusual ears folded against its head. As the name implies, this breed of cat originated from Scotland. Scottish Fold became a registered breed in the 1970s.

Turkish Angora - From the name itself, Turkish Angora cats originated from native Turkey. They have long coats, which includes them under the general Longhair breed category. The extraordinary feature of these cats is that they have one amber and one blue eye, although there are still other combinations. Turkish Angora cats have appeared in several colors other than white. These cat breeds have pointy ears and sharp noses.
